Summer in Ontario is a short window, and there is a lot to pack into it. Weekends fill up fast with waterfront gatherings, lakeside camping trips, farmers' market runs, car shows, and the kind of open-road drives that remind you why you love being behind the wheel. The Toyota lineup has an answer for every one of those days, and a few models capable of handling them all.
Here are five Toyota vehicles worth knowing about before summer gets away from you.
1. The 2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid - A Weekend Drive Worth Planning

Car show season has its own rhythm. You plan the route, polish the vehicle, and pick roads that are worth the drive on their own. The 2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid fits that ritual well. It is exclusively hybrid across all grades, built around a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and Toyota's fifth-generation hybrid system. Front-wheel-drive SE models produce 225 system horsepower and achieve a combined fuel economy rating of 4.9 L/100 km. AWD grades, available on the SE Upgrade, Nightshade, XLE, and XSE, produce 232 system horsepower with a combined rating of 5.1 L/100 km.
The Camry's sport-tuned suspension on the SE and XSE grades sharpens its handling on winding roads, while the available 19-inch alloy wheels on the Nightshade edition give it a look that earns attention in any parking area. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every grade, along with the Blind Spot Monitor System with Safe Exit Assist and eight airbags.
Camry summer highlights:
- 225 hp FWD or 232 hp AWD exclusively hybrid powertrain
- 4.9 L/100 km combined on the SE FWD grade
- Sport-tuned suspension on SE and XSE grades
- Six grades including the new Nightshade edition with 19-inch black alloy wheels
2. The 2026 Toyota bZ - Zero Emissions, Toyota Reliability

Long summer road trips are easier when your charge lasts as long as your plans. The 2026 Toyota bZ is all-electric with manufacturer-estimated range ratings that cover serious distances between charging stops. This all-electric SUV is available in three grades in Canada - XLE, XLE AWD, and Limited AWD - with manufacturer-estimated range ratings of 380 km on the XLE FWD model (57.7-kWh battery), 468 km on the XLE AWD, and 436 km on the Limited AWD (both on the 77-kWh battery).
The bZ is fitted with a North American Charging System (NACS) port, giving it access to thousands of DC fast charging stations across the country. Under ideal conditions, DC fast charging takes the battery from 10% to 80% charge in around 30 minutes. AWD models produce 338 combined system horsepower and reach 0-100 km/h in about 5.1 seconds.
Inside, the 2026 bZ brings a newly designed 14-inch Toyota Multimedia touchscreen, two wireless phone charging docks, 64-colour customizable ambient lighting, and dual-zone automatic climate control. All AWD grades feature Toyota's X-MODE system with Grip Control for off-pavement confidence.
bZ summer highlights:
- Up to 468 km of manufacturer-estimated range on the XLE AWD grade
- 338 combined system hp on AWD models; 0-100 km/h in about 5.1 seconds
- NACS port for access to DC fast charging nationwide
- 14-inch Toyota Multimedia touchscreen with dual wireless chargers
3. The 2026 Toyota Crown Signia - The Destination Vehicle

Some summer outings call for a vehicle that arrives looking as good as the destination. The 2026 Crown Signia is a five-passenger crossover with a sweeping roofline, standard 21-inch alloy wheels, and multi-beam LED headlights with automatic levelling. It is exclusively hybrid, built around a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with electronic on-demand AWD, producing 240 net system horsepower and achieving 6.2 L/100 km combined.
The Crown Signia's towing rating of 2,700 lbs (1,225 kg) opens it up to lighter trailers: a small pontoon boat, a cargo trailer for cottage gear, or a folding camper. Standard across both grades is a fixed panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated front seats, a driver's seat memory system, 60/40 split folding heated rear seats, and an 11-speaker JBL Premium Audio system. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on all models.
Crown Signia summer highlights:
- 240 hp hybrid powertrain with standard electronic on-demand AWD
- 6.2 L/100 km combined fuel economy
- 2,700 lbs (1,225 kg) towing capacity
- Fixed panoramic glass roof and 11-speaker JBL audio standard
4. The 2026 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid - Trail Access, Long Range, Every Day

The 2026 RAV4 is now 100% electrified - available exclusively in hybrid (HEV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. All HEV models in Canada come standard with AWD and produce 236 combined system horsepower through Toyota's fifth-generation hybrid system. The sixth-generation RAV4 also introduces Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 and a new Toyota Multimedia platform with 5G connectivity.
The Woodland grade, available as an HEV, is built for the roads that end where pavement does. It stands slightly taller than the core grades, rides on standard all-terrain tires with raised roof rails and crossbars already in place, and comes with a towing hitch for a tow rating of up to 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg) - shared with the XLE, XSE, and Limited HEV grades. For those who want plug-in capability, the PHEV models include SE, XSE, XSE Technology Package, and the first-ever RAV4 GR SPORT, producing up to 324 combined system horsepower and offering a manufacturer-estimated 80 km of all-electric driving range.
Whether the weekend plans lead to a hiking trailhead or a provincial campsite, the RAV4 HEV has the range and AWD footing to get there and back without requiring much planning at all.
RAV4 Hybrid summer highlights:
- 236 hp HEV system with standard AWD across all HEV grades
- Woodland grade with all-terrain tires, raised roof rails, and crossbars standard
- Tow rating of up to 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg) on XLE, Woodland, XSE, and Limited HEV grades
- PHEV models deliver up to 324 hp and 80 km estimated all-electric range
5. The 2026 Toyota Tundra - Tow It, Haul It, Camp In It

When summer activities involve a boat, a fifth-wheel, or a fully loaded camping trailer, the conversation starts and ends with the 2026 Tundra. Toyota's full-size pickup is available in two powertrain configurations in Canada.
The 4x4 gas-powered i-FORCE Tundra runs a 3.4L twin-turbo V6 producing 389 peak horsepower and up to 479 lb-ft of torque (348 hp and 405 lb-ft in SR grades), with a tow rating of up to 11,994 lbs (5,440 kg). For those who want the most capability the Tundra offers, the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain pairs that twin-turbo V6 with a motor/generator to deliver 437 peak horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, with 500 lb-ft available from a standing start. The i-FORCE MAX tow rating reaches 11,171 lbs (5,067 kg) and the combined fuel economy comes in at 11.7 L/100 km, considerably leaner than a traditional truck of this capability. All 2026 Tundra models now come equipped with a larger 122L fuel tank, which extends the range between fill-ups on longer hauls.
Inside the CrewMax cab, every occupant has real space, and the bed handles everything from firewood to kayaks with equal ease. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard on all Tundra grades.
Tundra summer highlights:
- i-FORCE 4x4: 389 hp / 479 lb-ft; tow rating up to 11,994 lbs (5,440 kg)
- i-FORCE MAX hybrid: 437 hp / 583 lb-ft; 11.7 L/100 km combined; tow rating up to 11,171 lbs (5,067 kg)
- All 2026 models come with an upgraded 122L fuel tank
- TSS 2.5 standard across the full lineup
