Introducing The 2021 RAV4 Prime

Introducing The 2021 RAV4 Prime

You might already know about the Toyota RAV4: it’s full of fun, it’s capable and powerful, and it’s ready for off-road adventures. What makes the RAV4 so special? It’s designed to unify comfort, sport, optimized cargo space, fuel economy and more, to deliver a vehicle that’s suitable for any need you may have. If fuel efficiency and lower emissions are especially important to you, the RAV4 is also available in 2 hybrid options. You don’t have to worry about compromising power and performance for greater fuel economy. There’s a RAV4 model for everyone.

So, if you’re already a fan of the RAV4, you’ll be excited to learn about the electrified 2021 RAV4 Prime. As the automotive industry focuses more on vehicle electrification, Toyota looks to add more electrified models to its lineup. Without compromise, you’ll receive all the great benefits of an electric vehicle and all the fun that only a RAV4 can deliver.

What You Can Expect From the 2021 RAV4 Prime

Fuel Efficiency

The RAV4 Prime is Toyota’s first North American plugin hybrid RAV4, promising exceptional fuel efficiency. It’s anticipated to deliver 2.6Le per 100 km. This capability is particularly ideal for daily work commuting, because its battery-only range is 60 km. That means you’ll be able to commute to and from work without ever using gas. If you’re on the road longer, don’t worry about looking for a charging station: the RAV4 Prime will convert to a full gasoline-electric hybrid once the 60 km range is depleted. No matter the amount of time spent on the road, you’ll get to your destination with fewer trips to the gas station and with lower fuel emissions.

Power

You won’t be disappointed with the RAV4 Prime’s powerful capability. In fact, the Prime is the most powerful compact SUV in the segment. With an acceleration time of 0-96 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, you can count on 302 horsepower behind the wheel. The RAV4 Prime proves to be the second-quickest vehicle in the Toyota lineup after the GR Supra, and it promises a thrilling feel behind the wheel.

Performance and Design

This electrified RAV4 is also ready for any off-road adventure or weather conditions. You’ll have advanced, electronic, on-demand all-wheel drive and the responsive handling of its sport-tuned suspension. This combination makes for incredible traction and handling on any terrain type. Like other current RAV4 models, the Prime is built on the same Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. The TNGA platform features a wider vehicle body stance, extended wheelbase and a lowered center of gravity to give the RAV4 Prime a fresh new look.

We’re confident that you’ll have fun in the 2021 RAV4 Prime, and it’s anticipated to hit showroom floors later this year. To receive the latest updates on the RAV4 Prime, click here.
