The current generation of Toyota 4Runner is, like previous generations before it, assembled primarily in the city of Tahara in Aichi Prefecture in Japan. Some past generations have had partial assembly in another Japanese city, Hamura, but the primary assembly has always taken place in Tahara.

The 2019 Toyota 4Runner is still one of the rare mid-size SUVs that is built more like a truck than a car. The chassis construction of the 4Runner is based on the older, more durable body-on-frame structure. This means a separate reinforced chassis, based on a truck, acts as the frame of the vehicle, while the body is attached to it.
It does, depending on which trim you select. As the name implies, both the Limited 7-Passenger and the Nightshade 7-Passenger trims have a third row to accommodate more passengers. Other models have two rows. Make sure to look at the different models to see which ones have the passenger or cargo capacity that you’re looking for.
The 2019 Toyota 4Runner has a total towing capacity of 2,268 kg. Be sure to research whether or not the trailer and cargo you have in mind are within the tolerance limits.
The 4Runner is, in fact, widely regarded for its off-roading capability. While all SUVs have a more robust build that is more rugged and tough than the average street-only car, that doesn’t mean that all SUVs are necessarily ideal for going off-road.
However, the 4Runner has been specifically designed to go off-road. It is looked on fondly by many drivers as being a reliable sports utility vehicle that can hold its own once drivers head into the wilderness.
